Trocadero retools its look, menu and attitudeLike a grand dame, a grand cafe can use a little updating, nipping and tucking eventually. That's what Trocadero, which calls itself Milwaukee's grand cafe, did in spring: The restaurant on the lower east side closed for six weeks, changed its menus and switched around the interior. Now the bar and the main entrance again are at the wedge-shaped building's front, where they started when Trocadero opened nine years ago. The bar, like the dining room, is casual but warm, with dark woods, dark-metal lighting and blond, Cream City brick walls.
